Thank You, Rainbow Songs
A COVID-19 Quarantine Appreciation Post
Times are tough right now. We’re all stuck at home. We’re trying to get through each day and onto the next one. We’re working to keep our sanity. And if you’ve got kids – congrats, you get to throw all of that in there as well with no escape, childcare, parks, playdates, etc.
HOWEVER, because the internet can be a wonderful place sometimes, Rainbow Songs is here to help.
They don’t know I’m writing this, they don’t know who I am, but it’s important to me that they get some love right now.
Rainbow Songs is a Toronto-based children’s music class organization, offering music class for kids from 0 to 4-years-old (0-12 months, 1 to 2 years, 2 to 4 years). Normally, they’re in 20 locations across the city, but right now, that’s all on pause. In the meantime, Rainbow Songs instructors have taken to Instagram Live and YouTube to stream kids songs and happiness.
Before COVID-19 I hadn’t heard of Rainbow Songs (maybe because we aren’t in Toronto proper) but when Jess discovered them and their Instagram Live streams at 10 am on weekdays, they became part of our lives. We’ve tuned to sing along and dance and laugh and tire Ollie out before his nap – and it has been wonderful.

I’ve been super impressed with the energy, enthusiasm, engagement (which is not easy via stream), and care that the instructors have shown in every class we’ve watched.
And the songs are fun too. I’ll be honest, the Goodbye Song is stuck in my head right now as I write this post.
