20 Maybe Ridiculous 2021 Major League Baseball Predictions!
Opening Day in the 2021 MLB regular season is coming up quickly (April 1, 2021) and I believe that I’m almost ready for it. I hope you are too.
I’m so (almost) ready that I’ve put together my annual list of maybe ridiculous predictions for teams and players and other random baseball related things for the season.
I didn’t make any COVID related predictions because all I want is for everyone (players, staff, fans, everyone) to stay healthy and safe and get through the season. My fingers are crossed.

20 Maybe Ridiculous 2021 Major League Baseball Predictions!
⚾ The Toronto Blue Jays are going back to the playoffs whether they stay expanded or not.
⚾ The new “less juiced” ball will see home run totals drop in a similar but not as extreme way we saw post-steroids.
⚾ We’ll still see some monster exit velocity numbers.
⚾ I will listen to a lot of episodes of the Baseball BBQ podcast.
⚾ I’ll try to teach Ollie more about baseball – or as much as a little 3-year old boy can absorb.
⚾ I will continue to wonder (especially near the trade deadline) why baseball doesn’t allow teams to trade draft picks.
⚾ Trevor Bauer gets caught using a foreign substance on the baseball while pitching and blames women on the internet.
⚾ The Dodgers bad karma for Bauer catches up with them.
⚾ The San Diego Padres will be talked about as the most “fun to watch” team in baseball.
⚾ The Pittsburgh Pirates will select Jack Leiter with the #1 pick in the MLB Draft in July.
⚾ The Colorado Rockies battle the Baltimore Orioles for the worst record in baseball. (You’re welcome Pittsburgh)
⚾ The Boston Red Sox bounce back a little bit and improve on their .400 (65 win pace) from 2020.
⚾ The Yankees stay kind of healthy but limp into the end of the season… and it’s going to be dicey for their playoff hopes.

⚾ The Blue Jays will play home games in Dunedin, Buffalo, and Toronto.
⚾ The Toronto Blue Jays will go over on their win total prediction: 86 via fanduel.
⚾ The Los Angeles Dodgers will go under on their win total: 103.5 via fanduel (the highest in the MLB).
⚾ Rumours start to swirl in June that Joey Votto “would be open to a trade” out of Cincinnati.
⚾ Marcus Stroman wins 17 games for the New York Mets who will battle the Braves (and to a lesser extent the Nationals) for the NL East crown.
⚾ Mike Trout does Mike Trout things… but the Angels will still be on the outside looking in come playoff time.
⚾ If healthy, Juan Soto will be a Top 3 MVP finalist in the National League in his age 22 season.
